  •  The Passing of Lou Cope
Lou Cope was widely known among the membership of SME Colorado Section and a friend of many. He passed away on Sunday, January 4. His son, Larry, sent the following email to Lou’s email address list, and we are passing it along to you.
"I am writing to let you know that Lou Cope passed away on Sunday after his long bout with leukemia. He was not in pain (or at least consistently rejected any offer of pain medication, presumably not wanting to miss a moment) and he died peacefully. I felt blessed to have been at his side. As you all know, Lou was a robust and engaged person who, as he put it, "never met a stranger." Even in his last months, he never complained and was content to simply live each day and see the best in his situation. Your thoughts and prayers over the last two years as well as your communications with Lou were a comfort to him, and were deeply appreciated. For those who would like to join us to pay tribute to his life, career, and travel adventures, there will be a memorial service Thursday, January 22nd  at 12:00 noon, Olinger/Crown Hill Cemetery Chapel, 29th and Wadsworth in Wheatridge (suburban Denver) Colorado."

    "Best Regards to All",
    Larry Cope
