Northern Nevada Section  

The Northern Nevada Section is a legally constituted unit of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration, Inc., encompassing a specific geographical area. Our members are given the opportunity to network with their peers and hear valuable presentations through our activities.

The Northern Nevada Section of SME meets monthly from September until May.

• Luncheon meetings are held on the second Friday of each month.
• Our annual Christmas Party replaces the regular meeting in December.
• Anyone who has an interest in mining, metallurgy or exploration is welcome to attend!
• Dues for the local chapter are $10.00 per calendar year.  If you have not paid your 2008 dues, please see either Jaak Daemen or Neville Rhoden.

Membership

We welcome new members into the Section.  Membership in National SME includes a subscription to Mining Engineering Magazine; access to OneMine.org; the SME Membership Directory (a who’s who and where in the industry); information about local Section Meetings, the Annual Meeting and Exhibit; Online Resources (visit the website at www.smenet.org); short Courses and Topical Meetings, Publications (the best reference and technical publications in the world); Leadership Volunteer Opportunities and Personal and Financial Benefits (life and medical insurance, a credit card program, car rental discounts, and much more).

 

Membership in the Northern Nevada Chapter of SME requires membership in the National group and payment of dues (dues are $10.00 for the local chapter).  Membership dues are collected on an annual basis and are for the period from 01 January through 31 December.  If you have not paid your dues for 2008, please see either Jaak Daemen or Neville Rhoden.
