Northern Nevada Section  

The Northern Nevada Section is a legally constituted unit of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration, Inc., encompassing a specific geographical area. Our members are given the opportunity to network with their peers and hear valuable presentations through our activities.

Monthly Meetings:

The Northern Nevada Section of SME meets monthly on the second Monday from September until May at 6PM. Meetings are held at the Circus-Circus Hotel & Casino 500 N. Sierra St.

• Dinner meetings are held on the second Monday of each month.
• Our annual Christmas Party replaces the regular meeting in December.
• Anyone who has an interest in mining, metallurgy or exploration is welcome to attend!
• Dues for the local chapter are $20.00 per year.  If you have not paid your dues, please email Kaitlin Sweet.

Membership

We welcome new members into the Section.  Membership in National SME includes a subscription to Mining Engineering Magazine; access to OneMine.org; the SME Membership Directory (a who’s who and where in the industry); information about local Section Meetings, the Annual Meeting and Exhibit; Online Resources, short Courses and Topical Meetings, Publications (the best reference and technical publications in the world); Leadership Volunteer Opportunities and Personal and Financial Benefits (life and medical insurance, a credit card program, car rental discounts, and much more).

 

Membership in the Northern Nevada Chapter of SME requires membership in the National group and payment of dues (dues are $20.00 for the local chapter).  Membership dues are collected on an annual basis and are for the period from September through August.  If you have not paid your dues, please email Kaitlin Sweet.
