Description The Division of Energy and Mineral Development under the Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior assists Indian tribes with mineral development by providing geologic and engineering services, resource estimation, and funding for exploration programs. The Division also brings tribes in contact with energy, mining, and aggregate companies that would like to form partnerships or acquire mineral leases. Guidance is provided to both the tribes and companies that wish to make mineral agreements beneficial to both parties.
