Awarded To: Eric M. Hill

Paper titled "Modeling the influence of slurry temperature on gold leach and absorption kinetics at the Fort Knox Mine, Fairbanks, Alaska"
Eric Hill is currently a student at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks completing a B.S. in mining engineering and an M.S. in mineral processing. Hill has over 18 years of experience in hard rock mining; engineering and production, processing and open pit operations. Previous employers have included the Amax Sleeper, Santa Fe Pacific Twin Creeks (now Newmont) and Kinross Fort Knox.

The Arthur F. Taggart Award, established in 1970, is made for the paper or series of closely related papers with at least one common author, which in the opinion of the Committee represents a notable contribution to the science of minerals processing.
