The 2007 President’s Citation Award 
Awarded To: S. Komar Kawatra
Dr. S. Komar Kawatra is a Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Michigan Technological University. His passion is Undergraduate Education in Mineral Processing.
His experience includes Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre, Brisbane, Australia, Mount Isa Mines, Australia, Canada Center for Mineral & Energy Technology, Ottawa, Canada and the Indian Atomic Energy Commission, Trombay, India.
He has received numerous awards including Gaudin, Taggart, The Richards and the Aplan Award.
The President’s Citation, established in 1978, recognizes a significant individual contribution culminating in the SME year of tenure of the selecting President. The award consists of a presentation case with a certificate on one side and the citation on the other. Recipients of this award shall be the personal selection of the President of the Society.
