The 2013 M&E Outstanding Young Professional Award  

Awarded To: Justin D. Anderson


Justin Anderson holds a B.S. in Mining Engineering and a M.S. in Mineral Economics both from the Colorado School of Mines (“CSM”).  He started his career as a mining engineer with Marston & Marston Inc. (now part of Golder Associates), then joined URS Corp. as a mining engineer in its contract mining group.  Currently, Mr. Anderson works as an analyst evaluating mining investment opportunities for Resource Capital Funds, a mining-focused private equity fund.  He is a professional engineer licensed in Colorado.

Mr. Anderson joined SME as a student in 2003 and served as the Student Section Treasurer and GEM Chair while at CSM.  After graduation he joined the Colorado Section board where he has held multiple positions including Secretary, Vice Chair, Treasurer (current) and three successive terms as Chair.  He also served on the Young Leaders Committee for three years holding the positions of Professional Development Committee Chair, Vice Chair, and Chair.
