The 2003 M&E Distinguished Service Award  

Awarded To: Timothy D. Arnold


For outstanding contributions to the M&E Division programs and activities.
Timothy D. Arnold is Vice President and General Manager for Coeur Rochester, Inc. in Lovelock, Nevada. Arnold graduated in 1982 from the University of Idaho with a B.S. in Mining Engineering, and completed an Executive MBA program from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

He has chaired local sections, the Underground Unit Committee, the Golden Northwest Region, and the Mining and Exploration Division for SME and its members. He is currently serving on the Internet Committee, is a member of the Board of Directors for the M&E Division, and is Program Chair for SME for the 2005 annual meeting.

Arnold has over 25 years of experience in hard rock mining; open pit and underground, engineering and production, consulting and operations. Previous employers include Hecla Lucky Friday, Barrick Bullfrog, Independence Mining, Redpath (now McIntosh) Engineering and Ranchers Exploration.

About The M&E Distinguished Service Award:

The Mining & Exploration Division Service Award, established in 1985, honors members of SME (with the exception of all M&E Division Officers at the time they hold office) who have made outstanding contributions to the M&E Division in its programs or other activities.
