The 2001 Daniel C. Jackling Award 
Awarded To: John M. Guilbert
For stellar lifelong service to the mining community, for elucidation of porphyry copper deposit geology, for exemplary teaching of exploration geology, for development of Bajo de la Alumbrera, and for his lecture, ‘Linkages Among Hydrothermal Ore Deposit Types’.
The Daniel C. Jackling Award, established in 1953, and funded by AIME, is presented for significant contributions to technical progress in mining, geology, and geophysics.
