The 1979 President’s Citation Award  

For singularly significant achievement as Chairman of the SME-AIME Building Fund Drive in obtaining pledges and donations well in excess of $400,000. The money thus obtained will pay more than half the cost of the building; has eliminated the need for a commercial loan; and, because of continuing growth, is expected to increase the net worth of the Society and the Institute by more than half-a-million dollars. The success of this effort is directly attributable to his enthusiasm, dynamic approach, and persistence. The Society, its members, and the public served by the Society are indebted to Donald O. Rausch for this distinctive accomplishment.
