2010 SME Annual Meeting Author Information
The 2010 SME Annual Meeting & Exhibit will be held February 28 - March 3, 2010, Phoenix, Arizona. Your role in this meeting is integral to its success. We look forward to working with you. Following is information regarding submitting an abstract and preprint manuscript.
Preprint Manuscript Submission Requirements
- SME will be featuring 2010 preprints on CD-ROM. In order to be eligible for inclusion on the CD-ROM, preprints must be submitted no later than November 1, 2009 and must include identical hardcopy and electronic versions. Preprints received late or without electronic files will not be included in the CD. Please DO NOT put your manuscript into pdf format.
- Please format your manuscript to the specifications in the preprint guidelines. SME will not, under any circumstances accept e-mailed manuscripts.
SME 2010 SME Preprint Competition
Following are the eligibility requirements and general competition outline.
- A first prize of $10,000 and a second prize of $5,000 will be awarded to the two divisions with the highest and second highest percentage of pre-prints accepted by SME staff in time for inclusion on the pre-print CD ROM.
- The full amount of prize money received by the winning divisions will be paid into a scholarship fund of the winning division's choice.
- To be eligible, a SME Division or Committee must have programmed at least five sessions (and a minimum of twenty papers) for the 2010 Annual Meeting. Paper pre-prints must be received by the SME staff in time for inclusion of the pre-print CD-ROM.
For Papers Requesting a Peer Review:
- If your paper is prepared only for the Preprint CD, and you are not requesting peer review, follow the preprint format directions above.
- If you wish the paper to appear on the preprint CD and be peer reviewed for SME periodicals, you will need to submit it twice, once for the CD (follow instructions above under preprint format) and again onto the Scholar One Manuscripts peer-review website.
