Research Sub-Committee  

The preliminary Sub-Committee objectives are:

1. Specifically, work to identify longer term research ideas/needs, that in the perception of the SME Research Sub-Committee, could represent significant technology breakthroughs;
2. Help clearly identify and catalog the existing academia situation from a teaching, research, student, and resource availability;
3. To coordinate closely with the National Mining Association technology efforts and to make findings on activities available to the NMA, individual SME members, government agencies, or whomever may have a need for such information.
