This module will focus on explaining some types of mining emergencies, general procedures in emergencies, specific procedures during a fire emergency, and general information about warning signals, evacuations, and reporting of emergencies.Reference: 30 CFR Part 46.5.b.3

By the end of this module, you should be able to:
  • List some general categories of emergencies and explain what to do during an emergency involving personal injury, equipment damage, or fire
  • Explain the PASS system, the different types of fire extinguishers, and the fires they put out
  • Explain how to respond to warning signals at work
  • Explain what to do during an evacuation at work
  • Explain the reporting procedure for emergencies at work
