This self-paced course defines ethics, its concepts, its history, and its impact on professional practice. You will have a better idea of how to act ethically and what can be learned from case studies and examples.

In this course, you will:
  • describe what are "ethics" and "professional"
  • identify ethics fundamentals, the maturation of the Canon of Ethics, how unethical practices can transform into criminal behavior and recognize the filtering process that leads a professional to avoid doing harm
  • define the ethic of reciprocity, understand what are reciprocal transactions, describe the reciprocal benefit of altruism and summarize how technology lends itself to rapid spread of negative reputation
  • know the importance of giving an unbiased evaluations and reports, understand different aspects of managing environmental and safety compliance, respect the significance of your personal touch when rendering a judgment, and to be aware of pitfalls associated with separating from employment
  • analyze whistleblowing, its consequences, and the best ways to deal with an ethics circumstance, and recognize how ethics demands impartiality
  • review recent examples where codes of ethics were breached
