This module provides an overview of health and safety aspects of tasks related to hazards when working around equipment. Reference: 30 CFR Part 46.5.b.4

When you've completed this module, you'll be able to discuss the health and safety aspects of:
  • Mobile equipment, including:
    • Wearing seat belts
    • Improving visibility
    • Using available communication methods
    • Conducting pre-operational checks
    • Operating vehicles and equipment
    • Working around highwalls or near a pile
    • Refueling and parking vehicles and equipment
  • Stationary equipment, including:
    • Recognizing equipment guarding
    • Understanding stop cords
    • Avoiding ejected material Working around dust
