PAY RANGE:

$55,000 - $63,000 DOE

BONUS:

8% bonus potential based upon achievement of defined goals

401(K):

Summary/Objective

The Professional Development Specialist is responsible for a portfolio of educational products including a certification program and all aspects of webinar execution, and general support for live and virtual program related to SME events. The successful candidate will work to ensure that products meet the needs of members and provide detailed coordination to deliver the programs successfully. Providing hands on assistance to speakers and customers, this person is involved on many cross-functional teams that will link them to other business lines and project groups throughout the organization. Maintains knowledge and create programs using current adult learning principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the administrative coordination of the Certified Mine Safety Professional (CMSP) Certification Program
    • Execute a plan tailored to meet NCAA educational standards.
    • Work with volunteer committees who are subject matter experts in the mining industry to make program decisions.
    • Partner with Marketing and IT to promote program to the greater mining community.
    • Coordinate all logistics for CMSP Review Course training programs including venue identification, materials, speakers, travel, etc.
    • Use multiple software programs to facilitate department work. Including project management software, databases, abstract and manuscript submission programs, and recording and editing software.
    • Field online communications, assist with outgoing communications.
    • Respond to member inquiries, communicating with Committees, and keeping applicants on task
    • Responsible for application and renewal processes
    • Maintain databases manual tracking
    • Coordinate application and notification processes.
    • Manage program database and files.
  • Webinar Admin/Production
    • Coordinate 3-5 webinars per month.
    • Contact webinar speakers to test their system for technology compatibility and run through a practice session.
    • Create a sale item in Personify to allow members to register for the webinar.
    • Record and download the webinar to send to IT for posting.
    • Partner with marketing and IT to promote webinars and the webinar subscription product.
    • Coordinate access with webinar subscribers.
    • Obtain releases and maintain recordkeeping.
    • Partner with IT and Marketing on educational products.
    • Setup purchasing items for the SME website CART and responsible for maintenance of items.
  • Program Administration
    • Obtain speaker releases, track and maintain records.
    • Correspond with committee members, speakers, potential speakers, chair, and instructors.
    • Significant verbal and written communication with members by phone, email, including providing directions and instructions.
    • Create PDH Certificates.
    • Obtain presentation releases for capture and tracking.
    • Spreadsheet tracking.
    • Content Capture Administration.
    • Create program updates for web and print, proofread and edit programs, and follow up to ensure online posting.
    • Create program speaker placards for each speaker at every conference.
    • Obtain a presentation and capture release and track the releases.
    • Responsible for certificate development for participants and distribution.
    • Timely email and written correspondence.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 years related experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Intermediate to expert skills in Microsoft Excel

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Non-profit or association experience
  • Credentialing or background in adult learning concepts
