Mining Engineering Magazine
The August issue of Mining Engineering features a new, more modern look, a look the editors believe is more appealing to the eye and easier to read. The readers, of course, will tell us how well we did. Inside, readers will see two feature articles about two proposed copper mines, P.T. Freeport Indonesia's DMLZ mine and Resolutions Copper's Resolution Mine in Arizona. The editors welcome comments on ME's new redesign as well as the magazine's content.
The issue is also available to SME members online: www.miningengineeringmagazine.com

This is an indispensable resource for owners, engineers, construction managers, contractors, and others involved in the design and construction of subsurface projects. The nominations for the awards will be reviewed by the UCA Executive Committee during the January UCA Executive Committee meeting. The committee will vote and approve award nominees. The recipients' photos and bios will appear in the March issue of T&UC.

UCA CALL FOR NOMINATIONS EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The UCA Division is seeking recommendations and nominations from all UCA members for interested individuals to serve on the UCA Executive Committee beginning with the 2011 Executive Committee. Currently, the UCA bylaws allow a nineteen person Executive Committee. The members of the executive committee are made up of three officers (Chair, Vice-Chair, and Past Chair) and four Directors from each of the following areas; engineers; contractors; owners; and suppliers. Ideally the UCA Executive Committee would seek a balanced representation from the four categories, but the committee does have the option to have more members serving in one or more categories while we have fewer representatives in other areas.
