SME has a number of opportunities for you to share your expertise, research, and experiences with other industry colleagues. SME produces many conferences each year of all sizes. The larger conferences focus on comprehensive industry developments and case studies while SME’s smaller events are dedicated to topical or regional specializations.
Becoming an author or speaker at an SME-sponsored conference provides you and your company with exposure to other experts in your industry from all over the globe. It also makes possible the dissemination of important technological developments that move the industry forward. SME conferences often include print or electronic proceedings, or informal publishing of preprints and presentations.

SME's Flagship Publication
Mining Engineering, the flagship publication of SME, is a monthly publication that covers the mining and mineral processing industries and includes current news, feature articles, news from the Society and abstracts of peer-reviewed technical papers that appear in the Society’s peer-reviewed journal Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration.

Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (MME) is SME’s technical journal published in partnership with Springer Nature. With six issues a year in February, April, June, August and December, MME publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed papers in the fields of mining, mineral/metallurgical processing and exploration/geology. MME was published under the name of Minerals & Metallurgical Processing from 1983 to 2018. Special extended abstracts of papers accepted for publication in MME are featured in Mining Engineering.
