ELA's mission is to provide an interdisciplinary Leadership Conference for select young professionals, promoting the development of great leaders to guide our professions in addressing the needs of people in the 21st century.
Academic institutions address some of these needs through undergraduate programs. Traditionally, large corporations have provided leadership training programs to their employees. More frequently, however, job growth has been driven by small and medium sized corporations, which may not have the resources to provide training. The challenges facing the scientific and engineering community of the future require the engagement of professionals in industry, academia and government agencies. As such, it is particularly important for professional societies to provide training in these areas.
SME sponsors registration for seven attendees. Each attendee is responsible for their transportation and housing for the conference.
