The goal of the contest is to bolster graduate student education and contribute to research in mining and mineral studies.

The posters will be on display in a designated area near the exhibit hall at the SME annual conference. The contestants will be required to be present at a predetermined time, discuss their research with interested attendees and answer questions posed by the judges.
